Milni Mala

Milni Mala is a special garland used during the milni ceremony in Indian weddings, where key members of the bride’s and groom’s families meet and exchange garlands as a gesture of respect and goodwill. These garlands symbolize unity and the formal merging of two families.

Popular Flowers: Roses, marigolds, jasmine, orchids, or carnations.

Fragrant and Unique: Green elaichi pods are strung together, often combined with pearls or silk threads.

During the Milni Ceremony:

• Key members from both families (like fathers, brothers, and uncles) exchange the malas during introductions.
• Each pair garlands one another as a sign of respect and goodwill.

• The groom and baratis (groom’s procession) can also be welcomed with Milni Malas during their arrival.
